Today Ps Kong shares...

Don’t Give Room To Sin
28 Feb 2009

When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes on the skin of his body like a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.

Leviticus 13:2
A man suspected of contracting leprosy must first show himself to Aaron the high priest or one of his sons. In examining such a person, the priest must be mindful of two things: (1) the holiness of God, and (2) the grace of God.
The holiness of God demands that anyone who should be out ought to be out. The grace of God demands that anyone who should be in ought to be in.
As such, a priest could not make hasty judgments based on hearsay or subjective bias. He must examine a person suspected of being leprous thoroughly and carry out whatever necessary actions in accordance with the Holy Scriptures.

Leprosy always starts as a little sore on the surface of the skin (Lev. 13:3). But if left untreated, it will soon go deep into the skin and spread all over the body. Leprosy in the Bible always symbolizes a type of sin. And sin always starts insignificantly small. It may be a seemingly harmless thought or an innocuous action. But when it is not checked, it will soon spread all over your life.

Sometimes, leprosy appears as a scab—a crust that has formed over a wound (Lev. 13:6-8). It looks like it has been healed but underneath the scab, the leprosy is still active. Similarly, sin that is not thoroughly dealt with can surface again and again. Leprosy may develop on a portion of the body that is burned by fire (Lev. 13:24-25).

In life, you can get wounded, hurt and “burned” by an outside force, like a family member or a friend. If you don’t deal with that hurt, bitterness and resentment can spring forth from that emotional injury. Eventually, it will spread throughout your heart.

Leprosy may grow out of a sore on the head and the beard (Lev. 13:29-30), which are symbols of authority. Sin can spring out of a collaboration with corrupt authority or bad leadership. Submit to and obey good leaders. Stay far away from the bad ones.

Leprosy may also arise from a bald forehead which was previously pronounced clean (Lev. 13:41-43). Many things in your life may not be sinful or immoral in themselves. But because they are not in the will of God for you, they are not under the covering of God’s blessing.
Eventually, sin will spring forth.

The good news is that Jesus Christ is your Great High Priest. He has come to cleanse all the “spiritual leprosy” of sin in your life. If you are willing to truly repent out of a broken and contrite heart, He will forgive you completely and thoroughly cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

How to keep a good & long relationship ?

Marriage is a success when u work at it.

Eg. wife is like flower, needs nurturing. Marriage will nv be smooth all the time.
we have to LISTEN to God and your spouse!!
To nourish - feed n bring to maturing, help find their fulfillment in the purpose of God
humbling down, see his wife more impt than him being the pastor.

Divorce
Initially on the matrimony, couples have made vow to each other, to LOVE, HONOUR and bring JOY to one another and when that VOW is not fulfilled, it becomes a curse.
"My word is my bond" neither of us out there wanna be curse right ?!
Honour your words! communicate to one another
.

In front of God,man n woman are e same.

How to resolve arguements
Turn to God if both party and hard header

Adultery of the heart is as serious as committing adultery physically!
God made us attractive to the opposite sex.
the difficult is that for many people that got themselves into such situation, they have to go backwards n ask, why is this happening ?

Because e couple is bored with the daily routine. Nothing special, different. the older you get, the more difficult it is. Youu dun wanna change. however,in a rs,1 peter 3:7, no matter how much a man pleads to God to change his wife, he will not. a man is sowing seed of divorce in relationship when he does not honor his wife.

That you cannot have an intimate marriage w/o working at it.
A couple must learn to communicate. Guys n girls are very different, think differently.
(When a woman communicate, she does it from the heart but a man does it from the head.)

Do you keep secrets from ur partner ? Nope!
Heart to heart talk builds relationship!

A couple who prays together stays together.
Try THIS
Morning before breakfast : Bring your wife a cup of tea, go throught the bible together. Pray for your love ones, each other.
Night before you turn in : Thank God in prayers together to end the day.
Sat : Set time to communicate with your spouse.
eg. Journal time, discuss with each other revelations revealed and visions and dreams from God.

You gotta pray with your spouse!

Iron sharpens iron.

COMAT COmmunication

Other people
Myself
Affection
Total openness & honesty

Temptation

Matt 24 & 25
community work : if u feed these poor, ur feeding Me
value of every Christian: do to others, ur doing unto Me
--------------------------------------------------------------
In the bible it says: its not good for man to be alone
"We should create a new family union because u learn most of ur character when u have children, people w/o children don't belief in themself. Have more kids,it due in ur character for your next generation.
--------------------------------------------------------------
Put the interest of others fers, look for advice in e bible, it will be solve!
We r accountable to God!
------------------------------------------------------------------
The needs of men n women is not to demanding but compromised n accomodate n satisfy your spouse!
Go the extra mile for them cause when God says, "1 km, go 2km"
Be always prepared to go the extra mile.
Its about LOVING one more time, FORGIVE one time.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

When is enough enough for guys who doesnt repent? Should the lady not forgive ?
Unfaithfulness.
Why is he unsatisfied at home ? The problem lies with the men,not the women.

Ezkel: Story of the baby.
Beautiful not because of yourself but I put love into you.
A man poured in words of affirmation and nurture her, therefore she is able to be poise and confident, and she walk with grace.

MARRIAGE IS A RELATIONSHIP OF EQUALS
MAN NEEDS TO STOP PUTTING THEIR WIVES DOWN, LIFT HER UP. MAKING HER ATTRACTIVE.
CHILDREN WILL FOLLOW PARENTS.
THE HOME IS WHERE WE MOULD SOCIETY FROM.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
TIP of the day:
Women prefers quality time.
They like eye contact, total undivided attention.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
A COUPLE MUST HAVE THE SAME HEART FOR GOD, same vision, same spiritual affinity. So that we can adjust the lifestyle according to God's word.
A couple needs to build friendship with each other too.
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Giving Birth
Get married as young as you can, have as many children as possible and enjoy them!
You can also speak into their life and stay young with them.
Life is the classroom for eternalty.
Children have a way to speak to you about the truth the way u won't wanna hear from an adult.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

LET EVERY COUPLE MEET THE NEEDS OF ONE ANOTHER.
LET IT NOT BE FOR YOURSELF.
DO IT PART OF YOUR LIFESTYLE.
"YOU WILL BE PUT ON THE LAMP STAND THAT WILL LITE UP THE WHOLE HOUSE.
BE WILLING TO SERVE YOUR SPOUSE.
LOVING ANOTHER."
Amen

Communication

KL shared:

[James 1:19] My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.

Quote Jun Hao's Msn nick: Communication is the key to successful Relationship!

This includes:
- Talking
- Listening
- Understanding

Communication means sharing of info with someone and making it understandable!

And few of the ways are through:
- Attitude
- Gesture
- Spirit

[Prov 18:13]
If someone talks, give him/her undivided attention.
Don't try to 2nd guess
Don't filter people's remark according to our needs.

5 levels of communication
Level 1 : Cliche conversation = Superficial talk
Evangelism does not mean bring them to Christ only BUT to go for a relationship between people to people.

Level 2 : Reporting facts on others = Knowing someone more.

Level 3 : Share ideas of your judgement
"By now, have you come to a point where you can be close enough to ask more about their life?"

Level 4 : Share emotion & feeling with friend.

Level 5 : Total truthful communication
Deep relationship is based on openness & honesty.
*The level of communication you have with God, determines the level of communication you have with the people around you!*
(Hardness gets boomerang)

LISTEN WHEN GOD SPEAKS TO YOU!

Qns of the day: Do I have faith and willing to take down that pride to do what God wants me to do ?" [Luke6:37]

Minimum -- Average -- Maximum

The good seed of the Word fell in good ground, yet it did not all produce the same amount. Some produced only thirtyfold, other sixtyfold, still others a hundredfold. Jesus is not endorsing thirty or sixtyfold as most people suppose. Often we hear people pray for God's blessing on the Word that "it may bring forth thirty, sixty, and one hundredfold." Don't pray like that again. Why ask for thirty or sixty when one hundred is possible? Jesus did not endorse anything less than a hundredfold, but He also knew that most Christians would be satisfied with only thirty or sixty -- something less than the best. He spoke prophetically. There are three kinds of fruit-bearers among believers. First, there are those who are content with doing a bare minimum for Christ. They try to get by with just as little prayer, Bible reading, testimony giving, and soul winning as they possibly can. They shirk every possible responsibility and do only as much for Christ and the Church as they are compelled to do.
The second class are the "sixtyfolders"; those who are neither minimum nor maximum but just average. They feel that as long as they are doing as much as the average, it is enough. Consequently most Christians are just average. " I'm carrying as much as the others and a little more than some" is their excuse.
The third class, the "hundredfolders," are the "all outers" for God. They do not measure themselves by what others do but by what God requires. These are the little group whom God will use. Out of the 32,000 in Gideon's army, God used only 300. They were one hundred percenters." Of the thousands who came to Christ, He used only seventy disciples and twelve apostles. Look at your score card tonight and grade yourself for the day. Were you content with anything less than one hundredfold? Your reward will be based on your grade.
Go then, work, the Master calleth;
Go, no longer idle be;
Waste no more thy precious moments,
For the Lord hath need of thee.
"Good intentions are no substitute for action; failure usually follows the path of least persistence!"
And these are they which are sown on good ground;
such as hear the word, and receive it,
and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold,
some sixty, and some an hundred.
Mark 4:20

Let The Weak Say "I Am Strong" - By John Gagliardi

Hi brothers & sisters!
I read this from CHC webby and found it cool to share!

Let The Weak Say "I Am Strong" - By John Gagliardi

One of the great conundrums of the Christ-centred life is that when we are weakest in our own strength, we are at our strongest in His strength. For most people successful in business or any other segment of the marketplace, that is often a hard pill to swallow.

It is easy enough to quote the Scriptures that we all know oh, so well: But reading and quoting Scripture on Sunday mornings is not the same as living it out on Monday mornings! Successful people, by their very nature, tend to be competitive and often forceful and assertive.

But the Bible tells us that if we want to be strong, we have to be weak! It tells us that our strength is only "made perfect" in weakness.

Does that mean we have to be passive and lifeless, as doormats just waiting to be walked on by everyone we meet? Not at all!

On the contrary, the righteous are "bold as a lion" (Prov. 28:1) and we are enjoined to "be strong and very courageous" (Josh. 1:7). So how are we supposed to be weak yet courageous; to be weak, yet declare that we are strong?

The answer of course is that God is telling us not to rely on our own strength—we are to "let go and let God". His strength is more than sufficient for us—He has enough strength for us to throw ourselves totally on His resources and to trust Him to see us through no matter what the challenges.

God is, well, God. He made us, and knows us, and He only wants the best for us—even if we sometimes wonder at the way He does things. God does not always choose for us the quick and easy way—sometimes He just wants us to struggle with our attitudes, to overcome obstacles, to pass the tests He puts before us. There is no victory without a battle—it is nice being on the mountaintop, but we have to walk through the valley and climb up the slopes first.

None of us enjoy the testing God puts us through—but in His infinite wisdom, it is necessary for our own good. In fact, several times He advises us in His Word that His discipline is ultimately good for us: We are told to "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord" (2 Chr. 20:17), yet it is not a passive, inert kind of standing, but a vibrant standing that is rooted in faith and God's limitless power. We are strong when our faith is strong, and weak when our faith is weak.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7). Weakness and fear are from the enemy, and it is all too easy to slide into that destructive state of mind. But God does not give us weakness and fear. He injects His own strength into us by faith, and gives us the power to overcome all barriers and obstacles thrown into our way.

"For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you" (2 Cor. 13:4).

KNOWING YOUR PURPOSE IN LIFE, sharing by Pst Kong

Why am I here?

Have you ever wondered what life is all about? Why were we born into the world in the first place? Is there more to life than this? Can we be truly happy in our life here on earth? The key to understanding the meaning of life and finding true happiness lies in knowing your purpose in life.

The Bible says there is a God who loves you.

This is a good God, who created you to have a relationship with Him and to enjoy His blessings.

Jeremiah 31:3
"The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; ..."

John 10:10
"[Jesus says] I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (to have life in all its fullness)."

However, there is a problem.

God has given Man freewill to make choices in life; to do what is right, to do good; or to do what is wrong, to do bad. Sadly, we live in a broken-down world with sin and sickness.

Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

1 John 1:8 (TLB)
"If we say that we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth."

All of us have sinned against God and this sin has broken our relationship with Him. As a result, sin causes us to be separated from our God who loves us. Worst of all, sin has an eternal consequence ...

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, ..."

The eternal consequence of sin an eternity in hell, forever cut off from God and His desire to be with us for eternity.

What is the way out?

Throughout time, man has tried to bridge the gap with God by religion, philosophy and doing good works. But none of these methods can save us or rid us of our sins and reconcile us back to God. The Bible says that there is only one way ...

John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."'

Two thousand years ago, God emptied Himself of His glory and came in the form of a human being, Jesus Christ. He personally became the Substitute for you and me to take the punishment of sin.

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

And the reason God did this was because He loves us and wants us to know Him.

Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

What must I do now to be reconciled back to God?

Here’s what you need to do:

(A) Admit that you are a sinner and need to turn from your sins (repentance).

(B) Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins and He is alive today.

(C) Confess Jesus Christ as Lord (or Master) and invite Him to come into your life.

You may pray a simple prayer like this:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins on the cross. I now open the door of my life and invite you in to be my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life from now on. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. I pray this in Your name, Amen."

Remember:

Romans 10:9
"That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved."

John 1:12-13 (TLB)
"But to all who received Him, He gave the right to become children of God. All they needed to do was to trust Him to save them. All those who believe this are reborn! - not a physical rebirth resulting from human passion or plan - but from the will of God."

Once we are saved, what is the purpose for living?

The Christian life is a very exciting and supernatural journey!

There are five basic goals in every Christian's life. As you pursue after these goals, you will find a great fulfillment in your life and find yourself growing closer to God.

1. WORSHIP
To know God and to love Him.

2. DISCIPLESHIP
To have your character changed to be more like Jesus.

3. FELLOWSHIP
To build meaningful relationships with other Christians.

4. MINISTRY
To use your talents to serve others.

5. EVANGELISM
To share this good news with others who have yet to know Christ.

The five goals of worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and evangelism can only be properly carried out in the spiritual environment of a local church. So, go and get a Bible today and start reading the Word of God. Then join us at City Harvest or find a Spirit-filled, Bible-believing church where you are comfortable in and start attending it regularly as soon as you can.

Welcome to your new life in Christ, my friend. Put on your "seat-belt" and get ready for the great adventure that God has in store for you!

If you live in Singapore and would like to know more about the prayer you have just made, or you would like to learn more about City Harvest Church's weekend services, please fill in this online form and we will contact you.
