yea yea, since it's the CG blog, it should be an avenue for everyone who wishes to express their thoughts. so if u're reading this, do post up new stuffs as well :)

i have been in church for 5 years plus, but coming to CG is a joy everytime. today's a saturday, so we had CG yesterday evening. i had a headache in the afternoon, almost could not go for CG. but Jesus is good. He healed me from the headache and hence I could go CG..

As I was crossing the overhead bridge to Parc Oasis Condo, a kind of joy filled my heart, because I'm going to Jesus' meeting. it's just different :D

Kee Liang preached a great sermon about John, and how we should go all out to support Sun's music career. I like John because even though he was crude, uneducated and unsophisticated, Jesus turned him around into an Apostle of Love within 3 years! My weaknesses can be made perfect in His strength.

Thank God for His grace and mercy. I am learning to RECEIVE from Jesus every single day. His grace is just so awesome.

Oh, this Sunday is Chun Keat's water baptism! gonna be so exciting, a fun-filled day of laughter, celebration and lots of pics once again :D

How to Be Thankful in Tough Times

Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Philippians 4:6 (NLT)

1. Don't worry about anything. Worrying doesn't change anything. It's stewing without doing. There's no such thing as born worriers; worry is a learned response. You learned it from your parents. You learned it from your peers. You learned it from experience. That's good news. The fact that worry is learned means it can also be unlearned. Jesus says, "So don't worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today's trouble is enough for today" (Matthew 6:34 NLT).

2. Pray about everything. Use the time you've spent worrying for praying. If you prayed as much as you worried, you'd have a whole lot less to worry about. Some people think God only cares about religious things, such as how many people I invite to church or my tithing. Is God interested in car payments? Yes. He's interested in every detail of your life. That means you can take any problem you face to God.

3. Thank God in all things. Whenever you pray, you should always pray with thanksgiving. The healthiest human emotion is not love, but gratitude. It actually increases your immunities; it makes you more resistant to stress and less susceptible to illness. People who are grateful are happy. But people who are ungrateful are miserable because nothing makes them happy. They're never satisfied; it's never good enough. So if you cultivate the attitude of gratitude, of being thankful in everything, it reduces stress in your life.

4. Think about the right things. If you want to reduce the level of stress in your life, you must change the way you think. The way you think determines how you feel, and the way you feel determines how you act. So if you want to change your life, you need to change what you're thinking about.

This involves a deliberate, conscious choice where you change the channels. You choose to think about the right things: focus on the positive and on God's Word. Why? Because the root cause of stress is the way you choose to think.

When we no longer worry, when we pray about everything, when we give thanks, when we focus on the right things, the apostle Paul tells us the result is, "The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:7 NLT).

What a guarantee! He is guaranteeing peace of mind.

An unbroken Net

When John wrote "Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land full of great fishes, an hundred and fifty and three: and for all there were so many, yet was not the net broken. John 21:11", he was amazed and surprised that the net full of fishes "held" and did not break. He must have been thinking of the previous experience in Luke 5:6 where they also enclosed a multitude of fishes and the net had broken. And so in surprise he writes, "and for all there were so many yet was not the net broken."

The scene is similar to the scene in Luke 5. After the disciples spent a fruitless night of fishing without Jesus, the Lord said to them, "Cast the net on the right side of the ship." Without Jesus in the boat we are always fishing on the wrong instead of the right side. At Jesus' command they cast the net on the right side and the net was full. But the amazing thing was, the net did not break. The reason is evident. In Luke 5 Jesus had commanded to let down several nets. Peter let down only one -- and of course it had to break -- with the load of fish in one net intended for several nets.

But in this incident in John 21 Jesus had told them to let down one net (verse 6) and it had to hold. Oh, that we might learn to obey and trust Him. What loss we too sustain when we refuse to believe His perfect command. What joy when we obey. "To obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams" (1-Samuel 15:22).

When we walk with the Lord

For the past few days, I've been reminded to read the book of Corinthians. And in there, a few verses caught my attention.

1 Cortinthians 1:10

Health and wellness: IPPT series (1) – Running and passing your 2.4km run(a)

All the men out there!

Having issues to clear your IPPT? Not sure how to train for it? Or simply don’t like to exercise? Or are you too busy to train for it, especially with hectic work and study levels?

The above questions are some possible things that go through your mind that make you DREAD IPPT. Recently, I heard of people just barely passed it or even failing it. FYI, if you were to fail IPPT, RT is waiting for you (which I think it will make you dread IPPT more, and waste your precious time).

However, fret not! For me being in the sporting arena for a long while now, I hope what I am going to share for the next few weeks, hopefully it can help you to clear IPPT and even get the silver or gold, which does make you $200(silver) or $400(gold) richer. Good money to be a little more hardworking, isn’t it?

For the ladies out there, although the passing of IPPT does not apply to you, I also hope this series can also help you to be healthier and reduce some fats, which can make you ladies more beautiful, radiant and sharp=D

**FYI, dieting is NOT good, which will be addressed in the later entries.

In today’s entry, I am going to address the apparent most dreaded component: Running.
Many people dread running for many reasons, such as:
1) Too busy
2) Lazy
3) Don’t know how to go about it
4) Tiring
Of course there are many more reasons (especially when you want to find your way not to run, all sorts of excuses and reasons can come out). If you are plain lazy or not willing to exercise (applies to BOTH genders), that I can’t help much, though I hope this series can convict you a little more to start exercising, for your health and well being sake.(Guys of course, to get the IPPT out of the way and earn extra cash).
So how does the 2.4km component work?

This distance is not really considered long distance running, however it can be quite a demand on the body. Reason being that this is a test of speed endurance (i.e. how long can you last at a certain speed). That means if you start too fast that your body can take, you will tire out very fast towards the end.
The tiring out is due to the relatively low lactic acid threshold in our body. You will be wondering what is “lactic acid threshold”. It is the limit of lactic acid that our body can take before our muscles get tired or “jelly”. The lactic acid is produced when we do speed-endurance based exercises, which require less oxygen than usual. Fret not if you have a low threshold, as this threshold can be trained as you train and will get higher. This limit will go down when you stop training.

After explaining the technical details, it’s time to tell you how to train for it.
In general, it will have 2 components: stamina build up and speed training. Of course the sort of speed and distance you need to train at will depend on your fitness level and your target time. Also it will require you to take out an average of 1 hr for 3 days per week. I suggest also that you can get a training partner or even train as a group, so that it will not be too boring.

The training plan suggested is for about 4 months for beginners. If you are fitter, you can adjust accordingly to suit your needs.

1st 2 weeks:
Slow jog for 15 mins.
This is to build up your basic stamina. After each run, it will be good to do some basic strengthening exercises such as crunches, sit-ups, push-ups, burpees and back extension. These exercises will be helpful for your future trainings and also your other IPPT components.
Subsequently for the next 6 weeks, increase your slow jog time gradually to 30 mins (5 mins per increase).

As you build up your basic stamina, I am sure your fitness will sure improve. Even the ladies, you can also use this to help you build up your stamina, and keep you healthy.

The speed aspect of training for your running will be discussed in the next issue.

How Great Is Jesus?

1st. Last time, people have to sacrifice animals to the God for sin offerings for atonements. Every single time someone has sinned, he or she have to burn sacrifice to the Lord.

2nd. Human are been condemn by God especially those who fall away from Him. So God's wrath are on them. Jialat.

3rd. Adam sinned and cause death to all mankind. Adam even push blames so all mankind have to suffer the punishment from God.

4th. John 3:16 -> For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.(NIV)

God sent His one and only Son to the earth to save what is lost; to complete the task left by the first Adam.

5th. Jesus came to earth as a human. He is been exposed to temptations, evil, grieve and joy; just like everyone have experienced. He honor His Father by obeying everything He was taught and did not sin. The only perfect human on earth i should say. He healed the sick, blind, deaf, paralyzed, and people who commit crime. He even eat with tax collectors and other sinners. Why? Isn't He is Holy and Pure? How come still contact and mixed around with 'sinners'?!

Here is the reason why. Matthew 9:12 to 13 -> On hearing this, Jesus said, "It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. But go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, not sacrifice.' For I have not call the righteous, but sinners."(NIV)

6th. He sacrificed Himself so we can get connected back to God. He has no sin and yet die for all sinners. Recalled to the 1st. After Jesus sacrificed Himself, the sacrifice is once and for all for everyone on earth. Repentence will be given for all who believe in Him. So, no more sacrificing of animals. The person's sin have been forgiven when he or she accept Jesus as their Lord and Personal Saviour once and for all. Everyone past sin will be forgiven by God; receiving Jesus into their life.

7th. Jesus was falsely accused, mocked, bullied, attacked, flogged and crucified. He know what is going to happen to Him and yet He continues to teach the people of God's truth. Why is he doing this? Blood was all over His body and continues to bleed especially for the nails on His limbs when He was hanged on the cross. What wrong He did to accept all these? And when He was hanged on the cross, many still continue to criticize, cursing, insulting Him with sarcasm. Yet He said, "Father, forgive them; they don't know what they are doing."

Can you imagine that scene?! The love for His people? I think if many are hanged on the cross when they have did nothing wrong, most may swear and hurl abuses and curses on people; filled with hatred and anger. But Jesus forgives them because of their ignorant.

8th. After Jesus died, He was resurrected by His Father, also known as the Holy Spirit. Jesus job on earth is done. Forgiveness and repentance are given for all for those who believed Him. For people who accept Christ, they were all given with the Holy Spirit, the same spirit that resurrect Jesus. That's why its said that those believe in Him will not perish but have eternal life. Eternal living of the spirit with God.

Well, i don't know how to explain this great love. You have to experience it yourself and you'll understand. =)

Naturally, every housewife needs light in her kitchen if she is to successfully perform her household duties. Spiritually speaking, we need the light which comes from above, too. The philosophies of great men are interesting; many are inspirational and enlightening. Professional counselors have their place in our scheme of living; many have achieved a measure of success in helping people solve their problems. But Christ is the only true answer to every need of humanity. He is our "Light from above."

Those of us who have experienced a personal relationship with Jesus Christ can testify that He is our "Light from above."

What shall I fear while yet Thou dost lead?

Only for light from Thee I plead.

"Well, Mother, I'm not a child anymore!" one of my teenagers said with exasperation.

"You'll have to do more than talk about it to make me believe it," I said, as I wiped across her bedroom dresser and watched the dust curl. A few minutes before I had ordered: "Now clean your room right." By that I meant: Put away the several pairs of shoes lying about; dust the furniture and floor; shake the rug. Later, when I inspected her room, I knew (by the dust curls) she had not followed my instructions.

There are certain criteria a mother uses in judging whether her child is growing up. Does she accept responsibility willingly -- without forever being told what to do? When it is mealtime does she set the table without being reminded that it is her task? Does she make her bed in the morning? Care for her clothes? Do a thorough job of her assigned tasks? Or, does she give half-hearted service? Does she work cheerfully without constant complaining?

What about us, Christians? Are we making progress spiritually? How mature are we? Are our thoughts and words filled with complaints? Faultfinding? Ungratefulness? Or, do we serve God with glad and willing hearts? Are we going deeper with God? Are we climbing in the School of Wisdom? Are we "growing up?"

Deeper, deeper in the love of Jesus

Daily let me go;

Higher, higher in the school of wisdom,

More of grace to know.

But grow in grace,

and in the knowledge of our Lord

and Savior Jesus Christ.

To him be glory both

now and for ever. Amen.

Self-Control Is Not an Option

Self-Control Is Not an Option

"For the grace of God...teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives" (Titus 2:11-12 NIV).

As we discussed in the previous topic, self-control is not optional for Christians. The race we are running is for eternity, and so we're to develop a strict discipline (1 Corinthians 9:25).

Here are some other steps to self-control.

Talk back to your feelings. Do you let your moods manipulate you? God doesn't want you to be controlled by your feelings. He wants you to master your moods. With Christ as the Master of your life, you can learn to master your feelings.

Talk back to them. Learn to challenge your emotions: "For the grace of God...teaches us to say 'No' to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives..." (Titus 2:11-12 NIV).

God's grace gives us the power to do what is right. God gives you the ability to say no to that feeling, to that desire, to that impulse.

Believe you can change. The fruit of the Spirit begins in your thought life. The seeds must be planted in your mind: The way you think determines the way you feel, and the way you feel determines the way you act.

God gave us the power to change our habits when he gave us the power to choose our thoughts. Does Romans 12:2 tell us to be transformed by working hard at it or by sheer willpower? "Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2 NIV).

What are we to be transformed by? The renewing of the mind. When your self-control is being tested, you need to fill your mind with the promises of God. First Corinthians 10:13 says, "God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (NIV).

That's a fact. If you are a Christian, you can't honestly say, "The temptation was too strong; I couldn't help myself." The Bible says God is faithful. If you're a Christian, he won't let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.

He never asks you to bear something that is bigger than the strength he puts inside of you through his Holy Spirit.

An ancient legend concerning the Apostle John tells us that when he became too old to preach and too feeble to walk to church, his friends carried him to the assembly on a litter. As he lay there on the floor looking up at the rest of them, he would say over and over to each one who passed by his stretcher, "Little children, love one another!" Finally, the early Christians grew weary of his ceaseless repetition and asked him why he always said the same thing. "Because," he replied, "it is the Lord's most urgent command, and if only this be done, it is enough."

Some years ago, when a bridge was being built, the workmen came to a crucial point where the two sides were supposed to meet, but the iron girders refused to contact each other by several inches. Therefore the bolts and rivets could not be driven through to secure the whole together. Every mechanical method to bring them into union was tried, but to no avail. Finally, in despair, all further effort was abandoned for the night. The following morning the sun came up bright and warm, and gradually the great mass of metal, expanding beneath its genial rays, came together in a perfect union. Quickly the workmen inserted the bolts and rivets and the great span was completed. Such, too, is the warming power of the Sun of Righteousness if it is shed abroad in our hearts toward others. Things that cannot be knit in artificial ways by ritual or "religion" are then blended into a perfect fellowship. How blessed is the communion when by love we "serve one another" (Galatians 5:13).

The lathing process‏

Occasionally cupboard doors become hard to close. When coat after coat of paint has been added, the doors fail to shut tightly until they are lathed down.

Jesus told His disciples to "enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door" to all outside interference, to pray to the Heavenly Father in secret.

But, like the layers of paint that prevent cupboard doors from closing tightly, there are some things which add up to keep one from closing one's spiritual door. Indifference can interfere with one's prayer life. The cares of life and the complications of living in a modern, demanding world can sap the Christian's desire for spiritual things. Wrongs that need to be righted love of material gain, a lack of faith -- these are things which can prevent one's spiritual door from closing.

If, Christian, you should ever find that you can no longer close your spiritual door, there is only one thing to do. Let the Holy Spirit cleanse away every hindrance which prohibits communion with Him. He can fix up all your difficulty, if you surrender to "the lathing process."

Don’t Give Room To Sin

When a man has on the skin of his body a swelling, a scab, or a bright spot, and it becomes on the skin of his body like a leprous sore, then he shall be brought to Aaron the priest or to one of his sons the priests.

Leviticus 13:2
A man suspected of contracting leprosy must first show himself to Aaron the high priest or one of his sons. In examining such a person, the priest must be mindful of two things: (1) the holiness of God, and (2) the grace of God.
The holiness of God demands that anyone who should be out ought to be out. The grace of God demands that anyone who should be in ought to be in.
As such, a priest could not make hasty judgments based on hearsay or subjective bias. He must examine a person suspected of being leprous thoroughly and carry out whatever necessary actions in accordance with the Holy Scriptures.

Leprosy always starts as a little sore on the surface of the skin (Lev. 13:3). But if left untreated, it will soon go deep into the skin and spread all over the body. Leprosy in the Bible always symbolizes a type of sin. And sin always starts insignificantly small. It may be a seemingly harmless thought or an innocuous action. But when it is not checked, it will soon spread all over your life.

Sometimes, leprosy appears as a scab—a crust that has formed over a wound (Lev. 13:6-8). It looks like it has been healed but underneath the scab, the leprosy is still active. Similarly, sin that is not thoroughly dealt with can surface again and again. Leprosy may develop on a portion of the body that is burned by fire (Lev. 13:24-25).

In life, you can get wounded, hurt and “burned” by an outside force, like a family member or a friend. If you don’t deal with that hurt, bitterness and resentment can spring forth from that emotional injury. Eventually, it will spread throughout your heart.

Leprosy may grow out of a sore on the head and the beard (Lev. 13:29-30), which are symbols of authority. Sin can spring out of a collaboration with corrupt authority or bad leadership. Submit to and obey good leaders. Stay far away from the bad ones.

Leprosy may also arise from a bald forehead which was previously pronounced clean (Lev. 13:41-43). Many things in your life may not be sinful or immoral in themselves. But because they are not in the will of God for you, they are not under the covering of God’s blessing.
Eventually, sin will spring forth.

The good news is that Jesus Christ is your Great High Priest. He has come to cleanse all the “spiritual leprosy” of sin in your life. If you are willing to truly repent out of a broken and contrite heart, He will forgive you completely and thoroughly cleanse you from all unrighteousness.

The good seed of the Word fell in good ground, yet it did not all produce the same amount. Some produced only thirtyfold, other sixtyfold, still others a hundredfold. Jesus is not endorsing thirty or sixtyfold as most people suppose. Often we hear people pray for God's blessing on the Word that "it may bring forth thirty, sixty, and one hundredfold." Don't pray like that again. Why ask for thirty or sixty when one hundred is possible? Jesus did not endorse anything less than a hundredfold, but He also knew that most Christians would be satisfied with only thirty or sixty -- something less than the best. He spoke prophetically. There are three kinds of fruit-bearers among believers. First, there are those who are content with doing a bare minimum for Christ. They try to get by with just as little prayer, Bible reading, testimony giving, and soul winning as they possibly can. They shirk every possible responsibility and do only as much for Christ and the Church as they are compelled to do.

The second class are the "sixtyfolders"; those who are neither minimum nor maximum but just average. They feel that as long as they are doing as much as the average, it is enough. Consequently most Christians are just average. " I'm carrying as much as the others and a little more than some" is their excuse.

The third class, the "hundredfolders," are the "all outers" for God. They do not measure themselves by what others do but by what God requires. These are the little group whom God will use. Out of the 32,000 in Gideon's army, God used only 300. They were one hundred percenters." Of the thousands who came to Christ, He used only seventy disciples and twelve apostles. Look at your score card tonight and grade yourself for the day. Were you content with anything less than one hundredfold? Your reward will be based on your grade.

Go then, work, the Master calleth;

Let The Weak Say "I Am Strong" - By John Gagliardi

One of the great conundrums of the Christ-centred life is that when we are weakest in our own strength, we are at our strongest in His strength. For most people successful in business or any other segment of the marketplace, that is often a hard pill to swallow.

It is easy enough to quote the Scriptures that we all know oh, so well:

"Let the weak say, 'I am strong!'" (Joel 3:10).
"My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness" (2 Cor. 12:9).
"For when I am weak, then I am strong" (2 Cor. 12:10).
"I was with you in weakness, in fear, and in much trembling" (1 Cor. 2:3).
"For time would fail me to tell of Gideon and Barak and Samson and Jephthah, also of David and Samuel and the prophets: who through faith subdued kingdoms... out of weakness were made strong, became valiant in battle" (Heb. 11:32 and 34).
"Who is weak, and I am not weak? ...If I must boast, I will boast in the things which concern my infirmity" (2 Cor. 11:29-30).
"To the weak, I became as weak, that I might win the weak" (1 Cor. 9:22).

But reading and quoting Scripture on Sunday mornings is not the same as living it out on Monday mornings! Successful people, by their very nature, tend to be competitive and often forceful and assertive.

But the Bible tells us that if we want to be strong, we have to be weak! It tells us that our strength is only "made perfect" in weakness.

Does that mean we have to be passive and lifeless, as doormats just waiting to be walked on by everyone we meet? Not at all!

On the contrary, the righteous are "bold as a lion" (Prov. 28:1) and we are enjoined to "be strong and very courageous" (Josh. 1:7). So how are we supposed to be weak yet courageous; to be weak, yet declare that we are strong?

The answer of course is that God is telling us not to rely on our own strength—we are to "let go and let God". His strength is more than sufficient for us—He has enough strength for us to throw ourselves totally on His resources and to trust Him to see us through no matter what the challenges.

God is, well, God. He made us, and knows us, and He only wants the best for us—even if we sometimes wonder at the way He does things. God does not always choose for us the quick and easy way—sometimes He just wants us to struggle with our attitudes, to overcome obstacles, to pass the tests He puts before us. There is no victory without a battle—it is nice being on the mountaintop, but we have to walk through the valley and climb up the slopes first.

None of us enjoy the testing God puts us through—but in His infinite wisdom, it is necessary for our own good. In fact, several times He advises us in His Word that His discipline is ultimately good for us:

"Behold, happy is the man whom God corrects; therefore do not despise the chastening of the Almighty" (Job 5:17).
"My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord, nor detest His correction; for whom the Lord loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights" (Prov. 3:11 and 12).
"If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten?" (Heb. 12:7).
"Now no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it. Therefore strengthen the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees" (Heb. 12:11-12).

We are told to "stand still and see the salvation of the Lord" (2 Chr. 20:17), yet it is not a passive, inert kind of standing, but a vibrant standing that is rooted in faith and God's limitless power. We are strong when our faith is strong, and weak when our faith is weak.

"For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind" (2 Tim. 1:7). Weakness and fear are from the enemy, and it is all too easy to slide into that destructive state of mind. But God does not give us weakness and fear. He injects His own strength into us by faith, and gives us the power to overcome all barriers and obstacles thrown into our way.

"For though He was crucified in weakness, yet He lives by the power of God. For we also are weak in Him, but we shall live with Him by the power of God toward you" (2 Cor. 13:4).

Why am I here?

Have you ever wondered what life is all about? Why were we born into the world in the first place? Is there more to life than this? Can we be truly happy in our life here on earth? The key to understanding the meaning of life and finding true happiness lies in knowing your purpose in life.

The Bible says there is a God who loves you.

This is a good God, who created you to have a relationship with Him and to enjoy His blessings.

Jeremiah 31:3
"The LORD has appeared of old to me, saying: 'Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love; ..."

John 10:10
"[Jesus says] I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly (to have life in all its fullness)."

However, there is a problem.

God has given Man freewill to make choices in life; to do what is right, to do good; or to do what is wrong, to do bad. Sadly, we live in a broken-down world with sin and sickness.

Romans 3:23
"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God."

1 John 1:8 (TLB)
"If we say that we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and refusing to accept the truth."

All of us have sinned against God and this sin has broken our relationship with Him. As a result, sin causes us to be separated from our God who loves us. Worst of all, sin has an eternal consequence ...

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, ..."

The eternal consequence of sin an eternity in hell, forever cut off from God and His desire to be with us for eternity.

What is the way out?

Throughout time, man has tried to bridge the gap with God by religion, philosophy and doing good works. But none of these methods can save us or rid us of our sins and reconcile us back to God. The Bible says that there is only one way ...

John 14:6
"Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."'

Two thousand years ago, God emptied Himself of His glory and came in the form of a human being, Jesus Christ. He personally became the Substitute for you and me to take the punishment of sin.

Romans 6:23
"For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

And the reason God did this was because He loves us and wants us to know Him.

Romans 5:8
"But God demonstrates His own love towards us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us."

What must I do now to be reconciled back to God?

Here’s what you need to do:

(A) Admit that you are a sinner and need to turn from your sins (repentance).

(B) Believe in your heart that Jesus Christ died to pay for your sins and He is alive today.

(C) Confess Jesus Christ as Lord (or Master) and invite Him to come into your life.

You may pray a simple prayer like this:

"Dear Lord Jesus, I admit I am a sinner and I need your forgiveness. I believe that you died for my sins on the cross. I now open the door of my life and invite you in to be my Savior and Lord. Thank you for forgiving my sins and giving me eternal life. Take control of my life from now on. Make me the kind of person You want me to be. I pray this in Your name, Amen."

To use your talents to serve others.

5. EVANGELISM
To share this good news with others who have yet to know Christ.

The five goals of worship, discipleship, fellowship, ministry and evangelism can only be properly carried out in the spiritual environment of a local church. Christmas and Arise & Build season
As we all know now is the Christmas and Arise & Build season. Many of us have experience spiritual warfare and is so real. Yesterday, after I invited a friend for Christmas eve to church and during the night I immediately experienced devil attacks on my family and myself . I was very depressed but come to think of it, it was a start of a breakthrough which I needed to overcome with God's helping hand.

What I trying to say is that lets not face away from God when it comes to tough situation. God's yoke are never heavy to bear. All we need to do is to trust God for a solution and miracle.
(Matthew 19:26 - "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.")

And lastly I want to pray for all of us that No weapons formed against us shall prosper.

Amen!!!

Thank you Jesus for the Love and Courage on us.

After we got a new car, Sue said, "Maybe he'll let me steer." We laughed, for she was just a "little" girl then. "But I might wreck it," she continued. "No, you won't," her father assured her. "I'll be sitting right here beside you."

It would have been folly to allow our child to drive the new automobile by herself. But, It was all right for her to "steer" if her father was sitting close by where he could come to her assistance the moment she needed him.

Too often humans are inclined to rely upon their own resources instead of leaning upon God for divine assistance. God is waiting to come to our aid in time of need. We can avert making wrecks of our lives by turning to Him at the slightest sign of trouble. He is ready to take hold of the wheel of our lives and guide us back into the straight path.

I need not fear life if He is "close beside me."

Anywhere! anywhere!

Fear I cannot know.

Anywhere with Jesus

I can safely go.

And the LORD shall guide thee continually,

and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make

fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like

a watered garden, and like a spring

"Wooooohooooo!!!"
I believe many of us went for at least 1 session of Sermon or 1 elective.
Don't you think it was a very successful event!
.
I was super excited from day eve till 5 mins before the balloons were released and e finale started rolling!
Despite all the tiredness during the 5 days duty
when we witness the goodness of God and His acts, it just felt so wonderful to be able to serve such a wonderful God!
.
It was crazy to see thousands of people gathering in one corner of Singapore for God!
I was still imagining, Singapore looped-sided.
hahaha!!!
.
From 8.30am to 10pm daily, people are just so willing to Q!!
I'm surprised to see 50% of the congregations are Adults!
.
Because everything is provided and well taken care off, the 5 days conference runs so so so smooth!
we ushers even have time to rest a little here and there.
.
Although I didn't have the chance to attend most of the electives, but I felt fruitful.
Especially the bonding times with my fellow ushers!
right ministry chosen.

Hi Everyone,

This will be my first time sharing testimony in a blog. And so.... I just share it lorx... okok!!!

This testimony is about the water baptism event. Here it goes, when I received the water baptism form on 31 oct'08, I was excited over it and wanting my mom gonna sign it. But on the following day when I received a sms from my mom that she is having bad term with my dad, I started feeling very down and negative thoughts have been coming to my mind like how to ask my mom to sign the water baptism form in this current situation. But still a fire that is inside me still burning for the water baptism.

What to do?

Ans: Pray lorx.

Thank God that on that week is the morning prayer meeting week. yea yea!!!
So during my quiet time and morning prayer meeting, I pray to God and not just by praying alone, I went into visualizing and confessing that my mom will sign the baptism form and even visualize how Pastor baptize me in the water. And from there on I received courage to ask my mom.

On the day of asking!

On Wed I quickly went back home after my dinner and find the opportunity to ask my mom. At first she wanted to reject it but I persistently show out my interest in this water baptism. In the end, she SIGNED it!!!!! Praise the LORD!!!!

What we learn end of the day?

My answers are in Mark 11:24 " Therefore I tell you, Whatever you ask for in prayer, BELIEVE that you have received it, and it will be yours." AMEN!!!!

So friends, at the end of the day believe in what you prayed for and confess it. God will never short change you.

Hope this testimony will encourage you.

- pray for health for Ps Kong as he prepares for Asia Conference
- pray for health and strength for Sun as she goes touring the world with her humanitarian work and concerts!

Asia Conference
- pray for salvation among many who attend
- unbelievers to come with open mind and heart and receive God's words.
- smooth traffic
- capability in servants' strength as they serve
- pray for all servants to have a heart of fervency to everyone

Ministry
- joy as all usher come to the house of God to serve

- God will bless all uni student with a peaceful mind to concentrate and focus on studies
- Health to be bless on them in abundance as this is their crucial period (exam weeks)
- Pray for KL to have visions and dreams from God & the Holy Spirit as he leads the 3 cell groups and also sufficient rest time throughout this whole process.

As its A&B week, lets all guard our hearts and not let the devil tempt our hearts away. Let's pray that not only will we not be mindful of the amount we give but believe in Him who is almighty that He may keep us and our family blessed and healthy as we tithe, pledge and offers. I pray that it will be a sweet aroma up to You Lord as we behave as obedient child of Yours.
Throughout this entire period of ARISE & BUILD, as we pray wholeheartedly, Lord will begin to show us visions and dreams and more breakthroughs!!!

Thank God for the many times we had together as a whole cell group, THANK YOU JESUS!!
